Our Mission

Our Mission is the same mission Jesus gave his followers: Go and teach ALL, baptizing in the name of the Father, the Son and Holy Ghost. Jesus’ command is our highest priority. Every facet of church activity, in some way, relates to our biblical purpose.

Our Vision

Our vision is to create a community of believers here in Williamston who are transformed by the life-changing reality of the gospel, as people come to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior. As we grow together, we desire to share God’s Word and love with others in our town and surrounding areas through community outreach and service, personal relationships, as well as the rest of our world through missions.

Our Beliefs

At Fellowship Baptist Church, we stand firmly on the truths of God’s Word. We believe in salvation through Jesus Christ alone, the authority of Scripture, and living out a Christ-centered life.

Our Story

FBC Beginning

On March 21, 1976 a group of twenty-three believers gathered to have a song, prayer, and a Sunday School lesson. At this meeting, they were led by God to start a New Testament Church that would be independent of any organization or denomination. They named it Fellowship Baptist Church.
A temporary building was secured on March 29, 1976. Tracts and devotional books were ordered and the church faithfully met. As they continued praying and searching for a pastor, they praised and thanked God for answering their prayers.
Prayers were answered again on May 19, 1976. That day Mr. Richard Miller was elected as pastor. He assumed the pulpit on June 9, 1976. He was confirmed pastor when Fellowship Baptist Church became offcially chartered on July 28, 1976.
With Pastor Miller’s resignation in June of 1977, the church once again sought God for another pastor. On August 28, 1977, Pastor Jack Tripp, Jr. accepted the call. The congregation was thankful again because God had answered another prayer.
On November 19, 1978, a tract of land was purchased from Mr. John Whitley and plans for a new building began. The property was landscaped on August 1, 1979 with a much anticipated church opening in 1981. Finally, on April 26, 1981, Fellowship Baptist Church opened its doors at what is now 1450 North Haughton Street in Williamston, North Carolina. The church was again thankful and praised God for much answered prayers.
On May 3, 1981 the church held its dedication services for the lot and new building with which God had blessed them.

FBC Now

God is still faithful!
On December 26, 2021 Evangelist Phillip Boseman became pastor of Fellowship Baptist Church. He accepted the call after a unanimous vote. The church was again thankful to God for answered prayers. Since then the church has continued to grow with a new vigor spiritually as well as numerically.
In December of 2024 a remodel and update of the church sanctuary and building was completed. The project was accomplished in four months with the help of Craftsmen for Christ and many of the church members. Again, the church praised and thanked God for His wonderful answer to prayers.
God has blessed and sustained Fellowship through pastoral changes, vicissitude, and a pandemic. Though some things have changed our desire to share the gospel, love, and serve our community of Williamston, North Carolina is yet the same. A warm welcome still awaits everyone.
God deserves all the praise, honor, and glory!

Our Leadership

Phillip Boseman

Pastor

Pastor Phillip Boseman is a native of Eastern North Carolina, born and raised in Rocky Mount, NC. Like many young people, Phillip struggled with addictions to drugs and alcohol, to the point that he was sent to a Christian boarding school at the age of fifteen.

It was there that Phillip, for the first time in his life, heard the life-altering gospel message of the Lord Jesus Christ. On March 7, 2004, he repented of his sins and trusted in Jesus Christ as his personal Saviour.

Pastor Phillip answered the call to preach at the age of eighteen under the ministry of his pastor, Dave Varnell. Since that time, he has served in various areas of ministry, including youth pastor, evangelist, and pastor.

Phillip answered the call to Fellowship Baptist Church on December 26, 2021, by unanimous vote. Since then, the church has experienced growth both spiritually and numerically by the grace of God.

Phillip has been blessed by the Lord with a beautiful wife and three wonderful children, who serve alongside him in ministry at Fellowship.

Pastor Phillip would like to personally invite you to join us at Fellowship Baptist Church, which he firmly believes is a church that genuinely desires to follow Christ and love people.
